Sorry for the long response.... I honestly don't want to officially "release" these things as they are super slapdash and low-quality compared to our actual recordings. Feels more right to just make it available...
I’m not sure you realize how good this is. I absolutely love this record. Down In Yon Forest sounds like it could be a Dreadnoughts song in its current state; If it were a track on Green Willow it would have totally made sense both sonically and thematically. Ultimately I just want to give you the money for this, and bandcamp ensures you get more of it. I’d argue that releasing it on bandcamp is less official than releasing it on iTunes and Spotify, where it already is... Anyway, it’s a great record and we don’t deserve you.
... and some of us gave up on iTunes after v12, so now in the Year of Our Lord Twenty Twenty-three, Bandcamp is the only option for purchasing sound files.
No worries! I did buy it there first too, just because I didn’t see another option. I’ve bought all the Dreadnoughts and Siobhan stuff in any format I can get my hands on; digital, CD, and in vinyl, when available.
Next year, you've got to do "Fairytale of New York" by the Pogues -- seems right up your alley as Christmas albums go. You could do an open audition for the female singer. Not that I'm invested or anything.
It's like a memory of a candle-lit sitting room in a Nova Scotia farmhouse on a snowy night* ... I haven't been feeling the Christmas vibes this year but there's a hint of a sparkle now; thank you.
Sweet! Just the kind of Christmas music I wanted at this moment. Thanks for sharing your alter ego -- that Tamo Daleko single is lovely. Any more alter egos you have been hiding? 😍
Aaaand here I was, just yesterday, baking cookies, thinking, man. it's too bad the 'naughts don't go in for the 'novelty cover' thing, I could do with a bit of holiday cheer from that fine lot. Now's this, close enough, I say. Thanks!
Yeah it's weird, obviously the artists who pivot to Christmas albums are PROFOUNDLY lame and we will never do that, but the reality is that the old carols/hymns are fucking gorgeous.
Is that a mic'd guitar amp or are you using DI and software? That tone sounds killer, I've been using Scuffham S-gear for tracking demos but I feel like it sounds like shit compared to the tone on that MidEast track
Dude! This is fucking amazing! I love the Christmas tunes and I love MidEast--so good! Will you out the Xmas record on bandcamp so we can pay for it?

It's actually up on iTunes if you want to buy it.
Yep, but artists get way more on the money on bandcamp.

I realize that, and I prefer Bandcamp as well, but this was the only option I found right now so I just wanted to put it out there.

Ahhhhhhhh I was just wishing I had a Christmas album by you earlier this week. Thanks!
Haha, maybe not the one you envisioned but glad it's filling a need!

Nice idea! That song is crazy over-covered unfortunately. There are about 1,000 covers of it ha ha. :D
Same! It’s a Christmas miracle!
I fail to see the relevance of this information. None of them were done by you.
You never think you'd say this, but I'm happy to be taken advantage of. Have a great Christmas time!

*N.B. I have never been to Nova Scotia

If I'm hiding them then it would be pretty counterproductive to share them with you right now, eh???? ;)
Tamo Daleko? I think I missed one, is this another of your projects?

Ditto! A disturbance in the Force, apparently.
Listening literally right now. This is fantastic!!
Thank you!
How are you doing the drums on MidEast? Are they programmed?

Just a regular old mini marshall stack, miced with an SM57... nothing special!
