Man, you know something is good when it gives voice to a nagging feeling you've had for a long time. Thanks y'all.

Aw thanks man. We had to trim this post by like 1000 words... So much more to say about it all. Maybe a follow up post is in order...

Spot on guys. ❤️ Us 60+ year olds love you and polka. When you get to the other side of the mountain (of life) you realize how important this is. Don’t stop. 🥰

Sorting through posts and learning about your music. Getting to know the source. I picked up a few polka moves as a student in Germany. Nothing disintegrates awkwardness among strangers like great beer and a fast tempo polka. Thanks for taking me back there. And I hereby pledge to add 'Polka Never Dies' album to my playlist for a ten-hour drive this week. Should get a new/old beat embedded in my brain by the time I'm done.

Sister has promised gingerbread at the other end. And nobody has touched the half bottle of Irish whiskey I left in the cabinet last time I visited....she says.

Most Excellent article. back in early 2019, got to attend a few polka events down here in Texas, they were packed, then Covid.

Young and old, 900 in a hall, dancing and laughing, lots of families.

But I think the big thing is we have (and most folks don't know this) a very large and very proud Czech and German population. Yup, after the Alamo was over Galveston became the second biggest immigration point in the US. Am not sure how it goes in what many consider the polka hubs, like Wisconsin, but we keep Polka (and the Dreadnoughts) alive down here!
