Well, this is it, our first album of original music in four years!
The cover is hand-stitched by our masterful artist Hélène Kardos, who took the concept and actually made the thing, physically, with fabric and everything:
We are so unbelievably excited to have the full thing out. It’s been quite the labor of love, and as I’ve said many times, all of the recording equipment and studio time has been directly financed by the paid subscriptions to this Substack. That’s an incredible thing to be able to say that, so thanks, paid subs! You’re going to get some fun previews this summer while you wait for the full album to come up.
Until then, you will all just have to content yourselves with the title track, dedicated of course to the Kings of polka-punk, Polkacide:
You can save the album for release listening here or search for it on your favourite platform: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/thedreadnoughts1/polka-pit

This track features master sax player Anya Combs (NYC) as well as— get this—John 'Johnny N.' Nieuwguyski, who was a horn player in Polkacide for 30 years and who is also an all around excellent guy and trumpet master.
It also features our studio guest gang vocalists, three of whom you can see here, all gathered via this Substack:
LAAA LUH LAAA LUH LAA LAA LAAAAAAAAAA. Hooray!
More singles coming out in a few weeks….? Maybe….?
It's pretty cool to think we've contributed in some way to something so brilliant - thank you too!! And the artwork/ needlework is awesome - the perfect encapsulation of everything this album has in store for us - get me in the polka pit now!!
I'm going to wait until tomorrow to check out the first track so I can blast it properly in the car as God intended.
Great to see Luang Prabang on there. I first caught that one when you guys did St. Vitus in Brooklyn around Christmas 2023. Loved it.
Also, "The I'm Going to Fight Jim's Girlfriend Polka," is that the song you guys debuted at the New Year's Eve Party? If so, it was awesome! Jungle Jim gave me the backstory to it when I ran into him before your set.
Finally, a little surprised Leave Her Johnny didn't make it on there. I've heard it at a couple of shows now and thought for sure it was gonna make an appearance.
