From an English side of things, I'd love to see you rework/punkify a 3/2 hornpipe or two; a lot of great tunes to choose from (Old Lancashire Hornpipe is a personal favourite), and they're as distinctly English trad as you get.
I'm with Curtis, you guys doing a Klezmer based album would be wild. The style is wide enough to get a few soulful numbers in along with the up tempo party music.
I am a fan of the Lemon Bucket Orchestra but a bigger fan of yours and think your spin on the style would rock.
One of my favourite English folk tunes is the Halsway Schottische by Nigel Eaton (or Halsway Carol when sung). Not sure if that counts as "traditional" yet or if it's a bit too popular, but sweet melody nonetheless.
I'd be interested in hearing a cover of "Wayfaring Stranger." It'd be interesting to hear it in your style. I know that many others have done that in the past, but I'd definitely want to hear you guys put your own twist on it.
If you don't mind digging into American trad, Meet Me by the Moonlight is the lovely unsung origin of St. James Infirmary that has as many potential verses as it does claimed points of origin. And speaking of English drinking songs, the Derby Ram is a fun, non-christmassy carol with the potential for original verses.
I'd love to see a collaboration between you guys and The Longest Johns. If that's not possible, a romanian-folk inspired song would do fine. Love what you did with Victory Square!
Tossing a second vote for exploring Romanian folk. My other half is Romanian, and we keep the language and culture alive as much as possible; I even play a few folk songs on the accordion.
From a folk-culture perspective it's fascinating - in a hundred years they've gone from a Monarchy, Fascism, Communism, and to a Liberal(ish) Capitalist Democracy. Go back 150, and they're part of the Ottoman Empire. At various points their folk-culture has been promoted, suppressed, or weaponised. There's a great little song, Treceti batalioane romane Carpatii, which has had several changes in lyrics that show just this.
Plus, if you could somehow do Manele inspired music that isn't awful, I'll be amazed.
Whilst they're Moldovan, I strongly recommend checking out folk-punk band Zdob-Si-Zdub. They played Eurovision this year, but are a great band steeped in rich tradition. Moldovenii s-au nascut, Treneletul, and Sanziene are all fantastic.
Steeleye span, what a classic. My parents had Below the Salt and Between he Breaks and regular rotation in my house growing up.
I'd like to hear a change at the end of a song from something folk punky to a traditional tune - Like on Planxty's version of Raggle Taggle Gypsy where they switch in one note to Tabhair dom do Lámh.
I know it's not really what you were asking, but I'd love to hear a collaboration album between you guys and any smaller artists in the genre that you think deserve a boost. If you've shown anything with this blog besides that you're a decent person as well as a good musician it's that your guarantee is worth a lot. Between that and the sound you could create I think working with bands like gogol bordello, boat show, any of the hundreds of bands you likely know in the genre that I can't list, or even someone like the killigans could be beautiful

I'd love to hear an album of work songs! I feel like celebrating labor is a really important part of early 20th century folk music that's been kind of left behind.

Nice! Be a real challenge to get the punk beats going on that one.
A Polish version of Hej Sokoły. Good luck.

This is the version I'm more familiar with, but yeah. Same song, but they chose different verses.

These are such amazing recommendations, thank you so much!
